From lead-waste to solar cell

The project exemplifies the possibility to combine through innovation the circular use of recycled hazardous waste with green energy business. We intend to evaluate the conditions for using environmentally hazardous waste for the production of green electricity by reusing lead waste for the manufacture of a central component for so-called perovskite solar cells. The EU's efforts to re-establish a self-sufficient solar cell industry are creating space for both solar cell manufacturing companies and subcontractors. Perovskite solar cells are increasingly being identified as the technology of the future and investments in European companies developing products are massive. Over the past 10 years, Dyenamo AB in Stockholm has positioned itself as a leading manufacturer of chemicals for chemical-based solar cells, such as perovskite solar cells. Dyenamo is in the right place at the right time with the right expertise, contacts and industry knowledge to take the concept from idea to market. The proposed feasibility study is the first step.
