RE:Source at Nordic Circular Summit 2023

Welcome to participate in the largest conference on circular economy in the Nordic region. This year, the conference will be held on October 17-18 in Reykjavik and online. RE:Source will participate online with two sessions on circular material usage, focusing on buildings and textiles.

The Nordic Circular Summit is the largest conference on circular economy in the Nordic region and is co-hosted by Nordic Circular Hotspot and Nordic Innovation. It is free and open for everyone to participate online. RE:Source will participate in the conference with two online sessions where speakers will share their knowledge and work in the field of circular economy.

RE:Source is hosting two sessions

The textiles session, ”Transforming Textiles: Innovations in Sustainability and Consumption,” will be held on October 18 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM (Icelandic time). During this session, we will delve into how standardization and new recycling technologies can solve some of the textile industry’s challenges of overproduction, overconsumption, and huge amounts of waste. We will also explore how digitalization and AI can bring new solutions to the market and change the textile industry. Our speakers will also discuss how a shift in consumer behavior can enable a change to more durable products on the market while ensuring profitability as consumption decreases. The moderator is Cecilia Tall, program manager for RE:Source.

The buildings-session, ”How to unlock the value of existing space and materials in buildings”, will be held on October 18 from 1:15 PM to 2:30 PM (Icelandic time). During the buildings session, we will discuss how innovative business models, transformations, and redesigns can breathe new life into buildings, extend their usability, and reduce the need for new construction. Do we really need to build more? How can we maximize the value of existing spaces? How can we reuse as much material as possible when deciding to build? And what are the challenges and opportunities for the future? This session will also include the presentation of the winners of the InfraAwards innovation competition. The moderator is Klas Cullbrand, innovation leader for RE:Source.
