Reports by RE:Source

RE:Source has funded and, in collaboration with other organizations, produced strategic reports and studies on the circular economy.

Circularity Gap Report Sweden (2022)

The first assessment of how circular Sweden’s economy is. The Circularity Gap Report Sweden is an in-depth analysis of how Sweden consumes materials, ranging from food and consumer goods to housing and mobility. The analysis was conducted by RISE and Circle Economy on behalf of the strategic innovation program RE:Source.

The report was produced in collaboration with Circle Economy and RISE.

Circularity Gap Report (CGR) The Value Gap: Sweden (2025)

Building on the Circularity Gap Report, this report explores the relationship between circularity and economic value. The report shows that one-fifth of the total economic value created in the country each year is lost, and that Sweden loses approximately SEK 600 billion annually as a result of today’s linear economy.

This is the first study to quantify Sweden’s value gap, a unique measure of the economic value lost when resources, products, and systems are not fully utilized. The report also provides recommendations for promoting circularity through research, policy, and business activities. The report was produced in collaboration with Circle Economy and RISE.
