Scalable circularity and service innovation: for profitable circular models in the textile industry
The project will contribute to a significant scale-up of Nudie Jeans and RecoMended's circular services and industrial infrastructure, a collaboration that can benefit other actors. Successful project will demonstrate the possibility for companies to take a large-scale holistic approach to circular business models in everything from design, production, use, lifecycle, repair, Re-use sales, reuse of materials, to fibre recycling. The project will show how internalising repair costs (like leasing) can increase incentives for companies to do the right thing from the start. From a research perspective, the project enables real-time monitoring of companies' work on integrating circularity into their business models and linking the consumer perspective (Lund University) with the business perspective (University of Gothenburg). The project has good opportunities to show how a transformative upscaling towards circular business according to Agenda 2030 can be made possible while maintaining profitability.
