Produktion av biopolymer av skogsindustriella avfall. P bioP

Biosludge from forest industry wastewater treatment plants, is a waste that can at best be used for energy recovery. However, the microorganisms in the excess sludge may under the right conditions show ability to accumulate biopolymers as carbon and energy storage. With the right technique, the polymers can be extracted from the bioslam and processed into bioplastics. The Biopolymers are of renewable origin, biodegradable, and the production of biopolymers can contribute to reduced energy and resource consumption in the wastewater treatment plant. Together, these processes create an innovative technology that will be verified and further developed in the project.
