High rise buildings with IsoTimber

IsoTimber manufactures house frames that are both load-bearing and insulating. The robust wooden building blocks have a long lifespan and can be reused, in line with what is required for efficient resource management in a circular economy. Today, IsoTimber must be combined with solid cross-glued wood panels to demonstrate sufficient strength in taller buildings. This project wants to determine, and test, that IsoTimber alone can meet the requirements regarding, for example, strength and fire in high-rise buildings up to 12 floors. The project also includes the development of apartment separating walls made of IsoTimber, as well as the determination of requirements and tests for the corresponding. The overall aim is to enable the sustainable construction of even taller buildings with only IsoTimber as a frame.
